a space to house coffee, among other great things... THE BEGINNING
I went to The Church in Bethesda (www.thechurchinbethesda.org) today to help Rob out with some worship, and afterwards found myself talking to a bright guy named Chris. Chris graduated from a school in Austin Texas and went to grad school at Georgetown coming out with an MBA. What was he doing at Rob's new church in Bethesda? He's a business guy, that likes history as well, and grew up going to church, now that he's got a job with Adobe he's feeling like he wants to give something to the community. He met Rob and decided to work for him/help him out with his spare time, and now they're working on one of many projects at this church in bethesda.... a coffee house in a big open room in their downstairs area. The idea is to get this place transformed from the bland boring room to an artistically inviting space for musicians, college kids, anyone that likes to hang out, drink coffee, meet ppl, eat food, chill. So while Chris is great when it comes to finding someone to install wireless internet hubs in the cieling that's going to be raised and opened up, he doesn't look at the room and SEE where to go with it design-wise, nor does he really know much about what a coffee house is about. That's were I come in (and Rachael Maddox/Kathleen Littleton), with fresh ideas of what to do and where. This is a very exciting and very NEW project. It will take months and eventually lots of support, but the seeds are here, waiting to rise with the coming of springtime and summertime!
